Trainer Biography: Joanna Walker

Jo Walker has worked in data management for 15 years and has experience gained in both Pharma/Biotech and in the Not for Profit and Charity sector. Currently she is the Head of Data Management at Cancer Research-UK, where her role is to lead and manage a department of 15 Data Managers and Programmers within the charity’s Drug Development Office.

Jo has also managed a Training Team and was responsible for developing and delivering training to the Data Management department on a global basis, and also for training staff at organisations that work was outsourced work to.

She has a degree in Genetics from York University and has more recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Management through the Open University.

Jo has played an active role in the ACDM for several years, and has run the Team and People Management courses since 2005. She is a member of the ACDM Training Committee where she is actively involved in developing the organisation’s Training Strategy and the design and delivery of the College Week.
